Senior Policy Manager

The FIA Region I office, based in Brussels, is a consumer body representing 114 Motoring and Touring Clubs and their 38 million members from across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The role:

We are currently seeking to recruit a full-time (m/f) Senior Policy Manager 

The Senior Policy Manager will be responsible for managing FIA Region I policy activities, focused on transport.

Primary Duties:

The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities and tasks:

  • Monitoring of EU legislation in relation to the activities of the FIA Region I office (connectivity, mobility, road safety and environment protection)
  • Propose lobbying strategies to represent mobile consumers at European level and ensure the visibility of FIA Region I with the European Institutions
  • Creating and maintaining contacts within the FIA Region I network of Clubs
  • Propose and supervise studies and research in support of the policy work carried out and coordinate awareness raising campaigns (includes dissemination material for Clubs and external audiences)
  • Coordinate the Clubs internal working group(s), informing Clubs’ about European developments and drafting common Policy Briefings
  • Organise and administrate meetings, both internal and external (document preparation, minutes..)

Profile:

The successful candidate will:   

  • At least 5 years’ experience in a similar position
  • Good understanding of EU institutions’ policy and decision making process
  • Excellent English verbal and writing skills (C2 level), knowledge of German and other languages is an asset
  • Clear communication skills, with the ability to translate complex issues into simple advocacy messages
  • Experience in international and multicultural environment
  • Be able to work on own initiative and in a team
  • Flexibility and engagement to learn
  • Be able to prioritise and be diplomatic
